Use & Care

  • To prevent food from burning and sticking, use low to medium heat; avoid high heat settings and the booster setting on induction stoves
  • Do not heat the cocotte when it's empty; use a little oil or lightly grease the cocotte with absorbent paper before cooking
  • It's not recommended to routinely put enamelled cast iron cookware in the dishwasher, as dishwasher cleaning products can damage the enamel; avoid the dishwasher for items with wooden handles
  • Avoid dropping or knocking the product, especially on the edges, to prevent chipping; do not use metal scrapers or utensils; avoid cutting food inside the pot, pan, or dish to prevent damage to the enamel
  • Dry the cookware completely after washing before storing; if rust patches appear (not dangerous), rub a little cooking fat on the affected spots; for cookware with black matte enamel, white spots may appear due to minerals or starch from food—follow the same instructions for drying and applying a layer of oil on the matte black enamel
  • NEVER use the booster setting on induction stoves
