• The cork lid serves as a fruit bowl, while the ceramic base offers a space for keeping onions, potatoes, and other root vegetables fresh and out of the light.
• Cork contains suberin, which has antifungal properties, doesn’t absorb moisture, and repels fruit flies. French grandmothers have been known to toss a handful of wine corks into their fruit bowls for this very reason!
• Under the cork “lid”, the lack of light slows down any germination.
• 3 small holes in the base of the ceramic bowl provide just the right amount of ventilation.
• Made in France, each piece is created individually by hand and signed by the artisan who crafted it.
